Aromatherapy

Is an ancient art which includes the use of essential oils & a soothing massage. It is a holistic therapy treating the whole being restoring and promoting balance between body, mind & spirit, helping to maintain good health. Essential oils are extracted from many parts of plants and trees and contain many healing properties which can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments e.g. sinus congestion, stree, aches & pains. By combining the use of essential oils & massage we are using two of our important senses: TOUCH & SMELL to bring about well being. Aromatherapy can benefit many conditions eg: anxiety, stress, aches, pains. It can also be used for relaxation. How many visits depends entirely on the client and what is being treated. It could be weekly for on going conditions or monthly for top-up and relaxation.

Bowen Technique

Bowen is a gentle form of vibrational body work in which very subtle moves are performed over the muscles, tendons & connective tissues sending messages deep into the body, retrieving cellular memory of a relaxed, balanced way of well- being. The moves are light, gentle & very precise. There is no forceful manipulation. There are frequent but very essential pauses throughout the session to allow the body time to respond and begin the healing process. The practitioner can target a specific area if injoury is new but usually addresses the body as a whole including old injuries. A bowen session initiates a cascade of beneficial changes that can continue for several days. It can benefit in the treatment of Back pain, Sciatica, Digestive & Bowel problems, Migraine, Pelvic tilt, Knee Ankle Foot problems etc.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle hands on or off the body therapy which brings about deep relaxation and increases the vibrational frequency of the body, releasing tension & blockages on the physical and emotional/mental plane, thereby promoting healing of the body mind & spirit. Reiki energy can produce feelings of peace and relaxation, relieving such conditions as Stress, Anxiety & Depression. Reiki can also help in relieving pain and accelerate the healing of injuries A Reiki treatment is carried out lying down or seated.

Hot Stone Massage

This is a 5000 year old therapy which uses hot volcanic stones to create a deep state of relaxation to heal the spirit mind body. Benefits include reduced muscle tension, promotion of regulation and digestion, range of motion of joints is increased an increase in detoxification, metabolism of the body and lower stress levels. You recieve a deeper massage using the stones. A very enjoyable experience.

Thermo-Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candles)

The word HOPI translates to "People of Peace" it is named after a Native American Indian tribe. The candle, a cylindrical tube (it does not have a wick & is hollow) is placed in the ear having been lit at the other end and held in place at all times by the therapist. When the candle is lit & gently inserted into the ear a moderate suction is created, gently manipulating the tympanic membrane. The treatment benefits conditions such as Glue Ear, Stress, Colds, flu & sore throats & Tinnitus. Most people require 3/4 treatments to get the most benefit from the therapy again it depends very much on the individual.
